Developed by the inventor of radial shock wave technology, DolorClast® is one of the most advanced and innovative radial shock wave systems available. Millions of satisfied patients and positive clinical outcomes support its safe and effective use.
In 1997, EMS patented the first radial shock wave device, the Swiss DolorClast®, based on ballistic technology.
Compressed air delivered to the handpiece accelerates a projectile, which strikes a fixed applicator at high speed (up to 90 km/h). The resulting kinetic energy is converted into a shock wave that is transmitted radially into the treated tissues.
Shock wave application is brief, generally lasting only a few minutes, making it possible to combine it with other therapies within the same session, as recommended by Guided DolorClast® Therapy (GDT). The DolorClast® shock wave protocol typically consists of three to five sessions, scheduled at a frequency of one to two sessions per week, with a minimum interval of 72 hours between sessions.
